Hip-Hop is the heart of American culture, constantly changing, constantly evolving. This broad category of dance is made up of over 13 different dance forms, with more continually evolving. Some of these include: Hip-Hop, K-Pop, Jazz Funk, House, Krump, Wacking, Lite Feet, Heels, Break Dancing, Popping, Locking, Dance Hall, and Step.

Very few Hip-Hop instructors have training in more than a couple of these dance forms. Most of them don't even know the names of the different dance forms.  Make sure that if you take Hip-Hop classes, you are receiving a complete education - in ALL genres of Hip-Hop, not just one - so that you can appreciate and love the Hip-Hop dance category more.

This is the MOST expressive dance form, focused on the individual rather than the group, fostering self-expression in its purest form. Dancing Hip-Hop is a truly liberating and vindictive experience. You will leave each class loving you a little more and having a little more confidence to "be heard" in every situation in your life.  

At Deseret Dance we train you in ALL the different genres and forms of Hip-Hop. Our instructor, Misty, was trained and taught all of these disciplines, and is continually receiving instruction from some of the best choreographers in the Hip-Hop industry, to ensure that she is up to date with the latest innovations in this ever-changing art form. . Misty has trained in Hip-Hop for over 13 years. He has won many awards, including many national first place awards. His students also won many state and national awards. She believes that Hip-Hop touches something very intimate within you: it forces you to face your true self and have the courage to be vunerable.
